Terms of Use

Last updated 14 October 2026

AskNani is here to support you through pregnancy and your baby’s first years. These terms explain what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you.

The short version

  • AskNani offers general guidance, not medical advice. Your doctor’s advice always comes first.
  • In an emergency, call 112. Don’t wait for AskNani.
  • AskNani’s answers are written by AI and can be wrong. Check anything important with your doctor.
  • You must be 18 or over, and what you add stays yours.
  • AskNani is free today, and you can close your account at any time.

This summary helps you find your way. The full text below is what applies.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and [Company legal name] (“we”, “us”), which runs AskNani. By creating an account or using AskNani, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use AskNani.

2. AskNani is not a doctor

In an emergency, call 112 straight away. Don’t wait for AskNani. Heavy bleeding, severe pain, trouble breathing, your baby moving less, or a baby under 3 months with a temperature of 38 °C or more all need help now.

If you are feeling low or overwhelmed, Tele-MANAS is free and confidential, any time: call 14416.

AskNani offers general information and support for pregnancy and early parenthood. It is not medical advice, and it does not diagnose, treat or prescribe. AskNani can’t examine you or your baby, and it doesn’t know everything your doctor knows.

  • Always follow the advice of your doctor, midwife or other health professional.
  • Don’t delay getting care, or ignore medical advice, because of something AskNani said.
  • Don’t start, stop or change any medicine, for you or your baby, based on AskNani alone.
  • AskNani never decides whether a pregnancy is high-risk. Only your doctor can.

3. Who can use AskNani

  • You must be 18 or over.
  • AskNani is designed for people in India, and its guidance follows Indian practice, such as the IAP vaccine schedule.
  • The information you give AskNani should be true and about you and your own baby.
  • One account per person.

4. Your account

Keep your password private, and tell us at [privacy@your-domain] if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens in your account unless it was used without your permission and you let us know. If you sign in with Google, Google’s own terms also apply to that sign-in.

5. AskNani and AI answers

AskNani’s answers are written automatically by an AI system. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, even when they sound sure. Treat them as a starting point for a conversation with your doctor, not the final word.

  • Quick checks (such as “Can I eat that?”) give general guidance for most people. They can’t account for your own health.
  • Please don’t share other people’s personal or health details in your questions.
  • AskNani keeps short notes from your chats to fit later answers to you. You can see, delete or switch them off in Profile.
  • We keep your conversations so you can return to them, and you can delete them at any time. How they are processed is explained in our Privacy Policy.

6. Trackers, timers and reminders

AskNani’s trackers, timers and reminders are there to help you keep track. They depend on your device, your connection and what you log, so they won’t always work perfectly.

  • Don’t rely on AskNani alone to remember medicines, appointments or vaccines.
  • A kick count or contraction timer doesn’t replace monitoring by your doctor. If you are worried, call your doctor or hospital.
  • Schedules such as vaccines and check-ups are general. Your paediatrician’s schedule for your baby comes first.

7. Using AskNani fairly

Please don’t:

  • use AskNani for anything unlawful, or to harm anyone;
  • sign in to someone else’s account, or try to;
  • interfere with AskNani: copying content in bulk, overloading our systems, probing for weaknesses or getting around security;
  • copy, reverse-engineer or resell AskNani, or use it for commercial purposes without our written permission;
  • post content that is abusive, misleading or that you don’t have the right to share.

8. Your content

What you add to AskNani, such as your logs, notes, photos and questions, stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide AskNani to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can change or delete it, and close your account, at any time.

9. Our content

AskNani’s articles, guides, illustrations, design, name and logo belong to us or the people we license them from. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don’t copy or share them in bulk without our permission.

10. Changes to AskNani

AskNani is new and keeps growing. We may add, change or remove features, and AskNani may sometimes be unavailable, for example for maintenance. We’ll try to tell you in advance about changes that matter.

11. Price

AskNani is free to use today. If we ever introduce paid features, we’ll tell you first, and you’ll choose whether to pay. Nothing you already use will start costing money without your agreement.

12. Closing your account

You can close your account at any time from Profile → Privacy & data. What happens to your data afterwards is explained in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where the law requires it. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you first and explain why.

13. Our responsibility to you

We work hard to keep AskNani accurate, kind and available, but we provide it as it is, without promises that it will always be complete, correct or uninterrupted.

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for decisions made on the strength of AskNani’s general guidance without consulting a health professional, or for losses that could not reasonably have been foreseen. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that the law does not allow to be limited, or your rights as a consumer under Indian law.

14. Disputes and the law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If something goes wrong, please contact our Grievance Officer at [grievance@your-domain] first. We’ll try to resolve it with you. If we can’t, the courts at [City] will have jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have to approach a consumer commission.

15. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using AskNani after that, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree with them, you can close your account.
